Sorliva High Density Foam Roller Review

Today I thought I would share something I have been using nearly every day since I first purchased it. As I am sure you know I am big into my strength and conditioning. Everybody knows that to get strong and look good you need to lift weights. What they don’t realise is that muscle growth actually occurs when we are at rest. That means we need to be making the most of the time we aren’t in the gym to recover and grow.

If you are anything like me then something which could improve your rest and recovery would cause you to pay attention. We are always looking for that edge in and out of the gym. Whether that be a supplement, new exercise routine or an effective recovery tool. This is something I use after every workout and on my rest days to optimise my performance. After using it for enough time I can now finally give my review on the product.

Features of Sorliva High Density Foam Roller

Sorlliva have brought together all their knowledge on myofascial release to produce their high density foam roller. If you are not sure what exactly a foam roller does then here are just some of the main benefits:

  • Increased flexibility and range of motion of joint
  • Improved circulation
  • Stress reducer
  • Injury prevention
  • Reduce exercise related soreness

The foam roller is built from a strong PVC material tubing to withstand high amounts of pressure without breaking.

It has just the right density to support human body tissue.

The foam roller has the ability to isolate specific muscle groups to target areas of tension. If you have a tight body part, whether that be a back or neck, the foam roller might be what you’re looking for.

The textured surface prevents the foam roller slipping on sweaty skin. The non-slip surface prevents accidental injuries. As the foam roller is used after exercise a lot, this feature can come in handy.

The foam roller has a hollow core and lightweight design.

Who the Sorliva High Density Foam Roller is For

As mentioned before the foam roller is well suited for anyone who exercises. When we exercise our muscles get tight and over time this can lead to pain and discomfort. Performance will inevitably suffer if this isn’t taken care of. Using a foam roller will help reduce muscle soreness and remove those “knots” from forming in your muscles.

This is not just for people who go the gym to lift weights. The foam roller is used those from all walks of life including those who practice yoga and runners.

Those who spend all day in an office chair would benefit greatly from the foam roller. Sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day can really leave your body in bad condition. On top of stretching, using a foam roller is needed to increase flexibility and improve circulation.

Pros

The best thing about this product is that it works. After using the foam roller correctly you will definitely notice a difference in how you feel after waking up from an intense workout the day before.

The varying textures provide a variety of effects. The highly ridged surface allows you to really get into those tight spots. Also having the option of the smoother texture means you can more gently massage other areas of the body as well. There is a texture for whatever way your muscles are feeling giving you the option to choose.

The hollow core and lightweight design can be stuffed with towels for convenience. This is not something I even realised until recently. Big, bulky foam rollers can take up a lot of room when you are on the go. The hollow core allows more space to be created which is great if you ever need to slip it into an already full gym bag.

I have tried many different foam rollers at the gym and I can say that this is the best I’ve tired so far. Other foam rollers are too hard which can cause muscle tissue trauma. I have also tried foam rollers which are too soft and end up being ineffective.

The foam roller essentially allows you to massage your muscles from the comfort of your own home. This means you can save time and money on expensive massage appointments.

Cons

The foam roller does have a tendency to not roll as smoothly as a foam roller without textures. This means it will require slightly more effort to use than a smooth one.

The highly ridged surface can be sore to use initially if you are not used to the pressure. If you are unfamiliar with this kind of foam roller I would recommend gradually progressing onto the more ridged surfaces.

There are other foam rollers that come with a bag to allow it to be carried easily. The Sorliva foam roller doesn’t come with one.

Alternatives

If you would prefer something completely smooth then I would  actually recommend the AmazonBasics High-Density Round Foam Roller

A good alternative for those of you who want a complete high ridged foam roller would be the RumbleRoller

The downside of these two types is that there is no variation in the surfaces. This means that you are limited in how you use your foam roller. For example if there are times when you want to put pressure on a muscle you may be disadvantaged using the RumbleRoller as there is less variation.

Final Thoughts on the Sorliva High Density Foam Roller

For me It is a must have to be fully prepared to recover after exercise.

Like I have mentioned I am not one for spending huge amounts of cash on a personal massage. That can be done if you ever make it to a professional level. But for those who enjoy exercise and looking good the foam roller is for you.

Honestly for such a reasonable price? I think it’s totally worth it. Considering how much people spend at a bar in one night it’s a no-brainer. Once you get the foam roller it’s there for good. There is no need keep going back to a massage therapist to give your muscles the attention they need.
